The idea behind AXL is straightforward: keep the equipment that works and improve the parts that could work better. A more supportive cummerbund, a cleaner headset mount or a zippered compartment can make an existing setup more useful without replacing the entire system.
Modular by Design: What makes AXL different?
AXL designs, cuts and assembles its products in the USA. Much of the range is built around established platforms from Crye Precision, Spiritus Systems, Ferro Concepts and other manufacturers. Rather than asking you to start again with a complete new system, AXL focuses on the interfaces: how equipment attaches, how weight is supported and how essential items stay organised.

Plate-carrier upgrades: Support where it matters
Structural Shoulder Pads combine padding with a structural element that spreads the load across the pad. They are particularly relevant when a carrier carries more than just plates. Integrated routing helps organise cables over the shoulders; the fit still depends on the carrier’s strap dimensions.
The Equinox Cummerbund Kit with Standard Adapters pairs a rigid, open cummerbund with FirstSpear Tubes and the standard front adapters. The Crye SPC kit supplies the SPC-specific adapter arrangement instead. Both provide structure for mounted equipment and a quick-release front connection. Choose the kit for your carrier, not just the colour.

AVP adapters: Connect the front of your setup
AXL’s Adaptive Vest Placard adapters provide an interface for suitable placards or chest rigs. We offer the AVP for JPC / MOLLE with Loop Field, the AVP for Crye SPC and the AVP for Crye AVS in Medium.
These are platform-specific choices, not three interchangeable versions of one universal adapter. Match the carrier, attachment type and placard dimensions. The adapter does not include the plate carrier or the chest rig shown in an application image.
Zipper inserts: Make existing storage more useful
The Micro Fight Hi-Top Full Zipper Insert and Half Zipper Insert add zippered storage to compatible Spiritus Systems Micro Fight compartments. The Full version uses the full pocket width; the Half version leaves space for a different arrangement alongside it.
For a Crye carrier, the Admin Zipper Insert for JPC adds a zipper to the existing admin pocket. Select the insert size for the JPC plate bag. These are inserts for existing equipment, not standalone pouches.
RAC Links: Match the headset to the mount
The Gen II RAC Link for ComTac VII / VIII connects those specific PELTOR generations to Ops-Core AMP Helmet Rail Mount arms. The Enhanced RAC Link for Peltor covers selected earlier headset configurations. Headset generation, microphone attachment and helmet rail interface all matter.
Gen II Downlead Retainers and the original Size 1 Downlead Retainer help keep the cable close to the mounting arrangement. Choose the version that matches your RAC Link setup. Mounting arms and headsets are sold separately; AXL also flags warranty implications when its adapters are fitted to third-party mounting arms.
CommSled and JTAC: Clear space on the carrier
The CommSled – Peltor and CommSled MultiMount position compatible push-to-talk controls towards the side of a carrier. This can free up the centre for an end-user device while keeping the PTT accessible. They are mounting accessories, not electronic wiring adapters; select the correct version for the PTT housing.
The JTAC Adapter provides a semi-rigid platform above the magazines on compatible chest rigs and placards. It is useful when you want to integrate a suitable device case or admin pouch into the front of the setup. The device and case are not included.
Small additions: Storage, organisation and helmet scrim
NOD’s Nest uses a padded wrap and the helmet shell to create a compact storage arrangement for a helmet and night-vision device. The included internal insert secures the device; the helmet and optics are not included.
The Medical Organizer Insert gives compatible pouches a removable, configurable organiser for medical supplies. AXL lists systems including the Spiritus Micro Fight and LBT-9022B. Medical contents are sold separately.
The Squid Scrim Kit adds a modular scrim arrangement to compatible helmets with loop material. Check that the finished layout leaves mounts, lights and controls unobstructed.

AXL’s wider range includes the Eclipse Belt, a low-profile, structured equipment belt with modular buckle positioning. The Innocuous Rifle Mag Pouch provides a horizontal magazine-carrying option, while the Node Pistol Mag Pouch offers a compact, elastic-retention format for compatible belts.
These three products are not yet listed in our shop. If they interest you, ask us about the required model, size and colour. We will check availability and lead time before confirming an order. The Eclipse is an equipment belt, not a fall-arrest or climbing safety system.
