Safariland 6354DO: How the ALS System Works
The Safariland 6354DO ALS Optic Tactical Holster is an open-top holster for compatible pistols equipped with a red-dot optic and weapon light. When the pistol is fully seated, the internal Automatic Locking System secures it automatically. The thumb release is operated while establishing the firing grip; once released, the pistol follows a natural straight-up draw path without an additional SLS hood movement.
The retention mechanism, moulded shell and pistol fit form one system, so the holster must match the complete setup. Its key construction details are:
- Open-top ALS retention with an ergonomic thumb release
- Thermal-moulded SafariLaminate shell for rigidity and consistent fit
- Compatibility with specifically listed pistol, optic and weapon-light combinations
- Soft suede lining to help protect the pistol’s finish
- QLS 19 locking fork included; QLS 22 receiver plate sold separately
Compatibility matters: select the holster by the exact pistol model, slide length, optic, weapon light and draw hand—not by pistol family or appearance alone.
Cordura-Wrapped Construction and Available Colours
The Cordura exterior sits over the rigid SafariLaminate shell. It adds an abrasion-resistant outer surface, helps reduce contact noise and supports a lower infrared signature without changing the ALS mechanism underneath.
Mission Gear Pro offers the 6354DO in Multicam, Camo Green, Coyote Brown and Black. Availability varies by firearm configuration and draw hand.

6354RDSO for SIG P320RX/X
The 6354DO listing covers selected Glock 17/22 and 19/23 combinations. The 6354RDSO for Glock uses a more open optic pocket, while the separate 6354RDSO for SIG Sauer is configured for the 4.7-inch P320RX/X platform. All use ALS retention and a QLS interface, but their model-specific fits and part numbers are not interchangeable.
Fit and Mounting: What to Check Before Ordering
Confirm the exact pistol model and generation, slide or barrel length, optic, weapon light and draw hand before ordering. Small setup differences can require a different Safariland part number; if anything is unclear, contact us for a compatibility check.
The currently listed 6354DO and 6354RDSO holsters include a QLS 19 locking fork. The receiver side is selected separately. Available mounting options include the 6070 CUBL Mid-Ride belt loop and the 6004-10 single-strap leg shroud.
