A cold start, a windy ridgeline or a long day in the rain: different conditions call for different layers. Choosing an OTTE Gear jacket starts with deciding whether your priority is wind protection, insulation or a waterproof outer shell. Our range covers all three roles, from a packable windshirt to an insulated hoody and a technical hardshell.

Rambler Tactical Windbreaker: stretch for active days
The Rambler combines Pertex Equilibrium fabric with an 89% nylon and 11% spandex blend. That stretch makes it an option for days when freedom of movement matters. An adjustable hood and a zippered chest pocket keep the design practical.
Its DWR finish helps shed light precipitation. Choose it as a breathable wind layer for changing conditions; for sustained rain, look to the Patrol Parka’s waterproof construction.

Insulated Hoody LV: warmth as part of your layering system
The LV adds warmth with 100 g PrimaLoft Gold insulation, as specified by OTTE Gear. Its Patriot Lite outer fabric has a DWR finish, while the adjustable hood and fleece-lined hand pockets add comfort when temperatures drop.
It fills the insulation role in your kit, whether worn on its own in suitable weather or combined with a weather shell. Plan around your activity level and the layers underneath, rather than a single temperature rating.

Patrol Parka: a waterproof outer layer
The Patrol Parka uses a three-layer eVent construction with taped seams. Its role is weather protection: rain, wet snow and wind. Underarm ventilation zips let you release heat, while the longer cut provides coverage.
A helmet-compatible hood that stows in the collar, chest pockets and sleeve pockets round out the design. Treat it as the outer shell of your system and choose your insulation underneath according to the conditions.
Super L Windshirt V3: packable protection against wind
The Super L Windshirt V3 uses 70D ripstop nylon with a DWR finish. It packs into its own chest pocket, making it an option when you want an extra wind layer within easy reach.
It is designed for wind and light precipitation, with an adjustable hood and a streamlined fit. Allow room for your intended layers when choosing your size.

Build your layers around the day ahead
For active movement in wind, start by comparing the Rambler and Super L Windshirt V3. If retaining warmth is the priority, consider the LV. For prolonged wet weather, the Patrol Parka provides the waterproof shell.
Check the forecast, your expected activity and what you will carry. A jacket should leave enough room for the layers you plan to wear, while allowing you to move freely. If you use a pack or load-carrying equipment, consider how it affects fit and access to pockets.
